Game Client

  1. Install the retail version of Unreal Tournament.

    Minimum requirements are 320x200 video, Software Rendering, and 108 MB of disk space with CD1 in the drive.

  2. Download the files and install them in order:

    • 00 (optional) CD2. Contains High-res S3TC textures, that work with the D3D9 renderer.
    • 01 UT Patch 4.36
    • 02 UT Patch 4.51
    • 03 UT D3D9 Renderer 1.3

  3. Start the game Play Unreal Tournament. At First-Time Configuration select Show all devices, then Direct3D9 Support. In the game, go to Options, set Preferences, and also Player Setup.

  4. (optional) In the game, press Console Key (~ key), which opens System Console. Enter preferences, and hit ENTER. Advanced Options will open up. There, open Rendering, Direct3D9 Support, and adjust them to your liking (e.g. set MaxAnisotropy to 8).

  5. If the game appears to run in slow motion, try disabling CPU frequency scaling (e.g. disable CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) and C2/C2E State Support in BIOS on GA-EP45-UD3LR motherboard).

TeamSpeak Client

You need headphones with microphone for voice communication.

TeamSpeak version 3.0.0 (TS3) (local copy) works perfectly on Windows XP SP3, 7 SP1 x64, 10 22H2 x64, and takes 60 MB of disk space. Newer versions have more requirements and problems.

  1. Install TS3 client using the defaults. Run it. Setup Wizard will appear. Enter your nickname, set Voice Activation Detection, adjust sensitivity so that your voice activates the microphone, but the noise from your keyboard will not. Select Microphone Mute key (Ctrl + Alt + M for example), uncheck all Post Setup Wizard Options. Hit Finish.

  2. Go to Bookmarks, Manage Bookmark (Ctrl + B), Add Bookmark, Label: max, Address: max.microlan.sk, Server Password, type the password we provided you, click More, enable Connect on Startup. Hit OK.

  3. Go to Settings, Options (Alt + P), Design section, enable Close to tray, Capture section, enable Echo reduction, enable Echo cancellation, enable Advanced Options, disable Automatic voice gain control.

  4. Go to Bookmarks, select max to connect. Drag your nickname to appropriate channel: Default, Team Red, or Team Blue.
