In vehicles for several players, you switch places between positions
using keys "1", "2", 3" (resp. with those, to which you remapped weapons 1, 2,
3, ...).
Nodes in ONS maps can be used as teleports. Just enter them like
a vehicle and select a node on the map that we control and is not under attack.
One strategy is also to snipe opponents around the core and create chaos
in their base.
Check if anyone is sniping you from a great distance. If you are in
a vehicle that has been locked in by an AVRiL, by exiting the vehile, the AVRiL
loses its target.
For ONS it's needed to build first node quickly. You gotta go here with
the fastest vehicle.
However, if you can make it in time with a slower vehicle to a node
that's further, then we can use more vehicles there. But, it can be brought
just by (only!) one player.
Two Hellbenders in one spot give quite a punch, even if one of them
misses.
If we have enough vehicles towards the end of the game, don't walk and repair a
Hellbender burning somewhere in the field, but attack the core! Only
exceptionally repair a strategic defending unit.
Repair a node if you see it's damaged. Attack later. Otherwise we need
to recapture and rebuild it again!
However, if it's being destroyed, rather fight the attacker than help
with the repairs.
If a Raptor appears in the sky, immediately shoot it with an
AVRiL.
You can shoot AVRiLs locked at a tank with a tank turret and extend its
life. A flying AVRiL can be shot down with a well-placed shot in the ground in
front of it from a tank.
If a Raptor attacks you in a tank, don't tickle it with a turret, but
get off and shoot it with an AVRiL.
It makes no sense to keep disconnected nodes alive. You have to go
restore the one that has been disconnected. If you don't have a quick vehicle
by hand, it's enough to shoot a rocket under your feet.
If someone shouts that they need their vehicle repaired, please repair
it with a link gun (weapon number 5, right-click). Especially while defending a
node!
Last node before the enemy base needs to be defended vigorously. It's
enough just to touch other nodes with a quick vehicle (for example even from
our base), and don't hang near them until they are completed. They will
complete by themselves! Give a shout if you're going to build such node, so
nobody else loses time doing that.
If there are many options on the map, it makes no sense to build a node
but to move onto the next one (of course if nobody else is already waiting
there).
If two branches lead to enemy base, sometimes it's easier to defend only
one, from where we attack (ONS-Dawn map).
If you have enough AVRiL ammo and there are many enemy vehicles moving
on the map, shoot in the air and lock it as soon as you spot an enemy.
jAnci has drawn for us maps
Arctic,
Severance,
and Torlan
with descripton and location of vehicles. Lowercase or uppercase letter --
h - Hellbender,
m - Manta, r - Raptor, s - Scorpion, t - Goliath
(tank) -- determines if a vehicle is located on the terrain level or above
it.
